In Print Exhibition – WOODHOUSE GALLERY

In Print Exhibition at lake House Arts Centre 29 August – 27 September

This extensive group exhibition is in the recently opened Woodhouse Gallery at Lake House Arts Centre and features printmaking in its many forms.

In Print includes the work of printmakers from two major North Shore groups – Hibiscus Coast, based at Estuary Arts Centre, Orewa, and Rataprintmakers, who are resident at Lake House Arts Centre, Takapuna.

Among the works on show are prints featuring haiku written by internationally recognised Hibiscus Coast member Sue Courtney. 13 members of the group each selected a haiku and created their own images based on their own interpretation of the text.

Also on show are gelli prints by specialist Sue Courtney and several handmade books by letter press specialist David Bell.

Taking part are: Vivien Davimes, Nichola Holmes, Pat Grove-Hills, Catriona Caird, Diana Coleman, Sahar Boroujeni, Sally Thrush, Sue Courtney, Gillian French, Naya Nicolius, Kerrie Cleverdon, Ann Thompson, Valerie Cuthbert, Yvonne Gray, Katrina Rivers and David Bell

The Hibiscus Coast printmakers meet at Estuary Arts Centre on a Friday morning to print, exchange ideas and pass on printmaking techniques among themselves.

Rataprintmakers and their studio have been resident at Lake House Arts Centre since 2020. They evolved out of a much larger group that was created as early as the late 1980’s.
