CERAMIC ART
by Kirsten Parker

KIRSTEN PARKER
Kirsten Parker is a ceramic artist based in Auckland who has been developing her practice and working with clay for the past three years. Her work centres on one-of-a-kind vessels, often wheel-thrown and finished with carefully considered hand-built details.

Working primarily with stoneware and porcelain, Kirsten explores colour through ceramic stains, creating subtle and unexpected effects across her forms. Her work is often inspired by nature and the beauty found in the world around her, while exploring ideas of strength, fragility and form.

Kirsten’s process is slow and deliberate, with many hours spent carefully refining and perfecting even the smallest details. This attention to detail is an important part of her practice, creating pieces that invite the viewer to pause, look closer and discover something they may not notice at first glance.

RAVEN CARTER
Raven is an Auckland-based abstract artist working primarily in acrylic and mixed media. Her expressive, contemporary works combine visual freedom with a distinctive edgy aesthetic.

With a background in jewellery, Raven brings an appreciation for form, proportion, mixed materials and craftsmanship to her paintings, creating layered surfaces and unexpected combinations with an eye for detail.

Inspired by a lifelong connection to the ocean, her coastal lifestyle influences her palette through ocean blues, sandy neutrals, warm tropical tones and vibrant pops of colour. As a mother of three daughters, femininity is another deeply personal influence, bringing a fluid, expressive quality to her work that balances softness with strength and beauty with edge.

Raven’s intuitive approach to abstraction allows each piece to evolve through layers of paint and texture. Her work celebrates individuality, contrast and spontaneity, creating bold statement pieces that bring colour, character and a distinctive edge to any space.

LOUISE RAE
Louise has been painting for decades, using art as a form of self-expression and a deeply personal way of connecting with herself. For many years, Louise was drawn to painting during times of sadness, pain and emotional overwhelm. More recently, however, her relationship with art has shifted and Louise has stated to share her work. Painting has become something Louise turns to not only when life feels difficult, but now because it brings her happiness, connection and calm. It is the space where her mind becomes quiet and she can simply be present.

Louise works intuitively with acrylic, resin, spray paint and water, building her paintings through layers of colour, and movement.
She is drawn to the colours that link to sunsets and the ocean layers
Louise’s moments evoke freedom, stillness and emotion, with a little creative chaos

For Louise, painting is more than creating art, It is a place of connection, expression and peace, a space where she can breathe, feel and simply be.
