Enjoy multimedia lectures and join discussions on concepts like desire, suffering, awakening, and redemption. Through an exploration of the poetry and philosophy of the “Ten Ox-Herding Pictures” classical Chinese artworks, students will gain new perspectives on life and the artistic process.

Stefan is an agnostic scholar who graduated from Komazawa University in Tokyo with a Japanese-language PhD thesis in Buddhist studies that explores the influence of classical Chinese Chan/Zen scripture on twentieth-century Japanese philosophy.
His writings focus on the intersection between religious doctrine, nationalist propaganda, and post-modern thought.
