For those who want to try something different than acrylics or have always wanted to try oil painting. This course will give you confidence to experiment and enjoy the benefits oil painting has to offer. Starting with a limited palette we will develop skills in colour mixing and application. Subject matter can be of your choosing (oils must be accompanied with vegetable oil for cleaning, not turps).

Materials Required

A3 Canvas pad OR Oil/Acrylic paper, Oil paints- Raw Umber and Titanium White (Winton Brand are good) (oils must be accompanied with vegetable oil for cleaning, not turps). You can choose WATER MIXABLE OILS if you prefer, Gesso, Brushes- Synthetic or bristle will do. (Ike’s Emporium has these). We will discuss materials in more depth in the first class.
