Josh Jorgensen paints in a style that he calls Blockism. Blockism is a clean, hard edge style of painting. Images are broken down into blocks, and those blocks are painted in uniform, un-shaded colours. Blockism is inspired by, Fauvism, Cubism, Hard-edge Painting, Surrealism, Minimalism, and more. The subject matter Josh focuses on is usually nature: landscapes, plants, trees, flowers etc. Josh believes that these objects bring a naturally organic feel to his work. The colours and lines of nature are inherently beautiful to Josh.
