Join Grae Burton for a two-day "Introduction to Recycle / Upcycle Art" workshop, designed for artists of all experience levels. On Saturday 18th January 2025 10am - 1pm, explore the philosophy of recycling and upcycling in art, see inspiring examples, and learn essential project planning and risk management when working with recycled materials. The goal is to inspire you to break the cycle of waste and contribute to reducing landfill impact, while also growing as an artist. On the following Monday 20th January 2025 11am - 12pm, you’ll be inducted into the Wairau Zero Waste Hub, gaining access to free materials through our ongoing partnership.
Grae is an Environmental Award-winning artist with a long-storied background in supporting environmental sustainability in multiple areas of the arts. He is currently Kaiwhakahaere at Te Whare Roto o Toi, Lake House Arts, where he leads the facility's sustainability practices.
