The Barden Party heads to Lake House Arts
Featuring music from Billy Joel, Outkast and Dave Dobbyn (to name a few), The Barden
Party is bringing its a vintage troupe of travelling troubadours to Takapuna to create a
musical, raucous ‘rockabilly retelling’ of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.
The professional travelling Shakespearean theatre company was born in director Laura
Irish's Nelson backyard when Covid shut down venues across the country. It became a
sell-out sensation across the country, picking up awards and accolades along its 50-show
season and then onto a critically acclaimed tour of the United States. Now, the most portable
modern Shakespeare show is coming to towns and cities across New Zealand this summer.
The Barden Party will be at Lake House Arts on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February
