The Face in the Mirror – Pop Up Exhibition

Opening celebration: Friday 16th May, 6 – 8pm

This exhibition is a collection of self-portraits. These self-portraits were painted as part of Massey University’s Doctoral research by Cheryl Gush. This is art-based research and explores the development of self-awareness in leaders when painting a self-portrait. All the artist participants(artists) are leaders (co-researchers) in organisations, who self-nominated for the project. Over 8 weeks, with the guidance of two art tutors, they participated in 8 three-hour workshops to learn some of the technical skills that they would need to produce these pieces. These leaders were free to interpret their presentation of a self-portrait, and individual style and medium decisions that have been made were supported.
