Trudy Evans – Satellite Exhibition at B:Hive Smales Farm

Artist Statement:

I reveal hidden stories in what we overlook or no longer value by giving discarded materials, marks, objects, and artworks new presence and meaning.
I work with what I am drawn to in my everyday life. Things that stand out and ask me to take notice of them. It might be an old artwork, a piece of tissue paper from a package, marks on the floor, paint splatters on a table, a squashed can in the gutter, or an abandoned flower on the footpath. To me, they are treasures, filled with creative potential. My intuition guides me in transforming my treasured finds into artworks that will have a new life. Sometimes, I work with printed photographs, adding my marks to them; other times, I create collages, work with mixed media, make paintings or use found objects in the final artwork.
