About the exhibition:

Intuitio- The intuitive, to scrutinize, the act of seeing. Pumanawa- Intuitive cleverness, the drawing in of a long breath, the heartbeat. Artistic Passport Aotearoa- Labels a group of artists of diverse ethnicity in Aotearoa NZ, including Maori, NZ European, Pasifika, Manx, South African, French, Asian and Caribbean. Pumanawa/ Intuitio: Artistic Passport Aotearoa is a showcase of authenticity to one’s own cultural identity, while reflecting on the common denominator of an Aotearoa NZ lifestyle. Artists respond intuitively, considering their heritage, placement and/or displacement, the negotiation of challenges, and things to be celebrated.
