Member Merit – Awards & Exhibition

Our much-loved Members’ Merit Awards is back for 2025. This annual showcase celebrates the creativity of our members, with guest judges selecting award recipients across a range of mediums.
Delivery of artworks: Tuesday 6 May (9am – 3pm) – Friday 9 May (by 12pm)

calls artists who explore weaving, stitching, embroidery, raranga, fabric manipulation, and fibre construction. Whether traditional, contemporary, or experimental, this is a chance to showcase how artists express structure, process, and change through textiles.
Free for members. Non-members: $10 per artwork or join as a member to enter for free.
Carina Sim-Smith – Satellite Exhibition at B:Hive Smales Farm

Carina Sim-Smith is an Auckland-based artist who captures the breathtaking landscapes of Aotearoa in oil and acrylic. Her paintings are inspired by the places she has explored—particularly the views revealed at the end of a rewarding hike. Her work invites the viewer to experience that awe-inspiring moment when the effort of the climb is met with an expansive, light-filled vista.Â

Join us on Friday 20 June, 4pm–9pm at Lake House Arts for a magical evening of art, kai, music, and connection. Wander through exhibitions, explore the historic house, enjoy food and craft stalls, visit the open carving studio, and experience the spirit of Matariki with waiata and more. Free event – all welcome!
The Face in the Mirror – Pop Up Exhibition

This exhibition is a collection of self-portraits. These self-portraits were painted as part of Massey University's Doctoral research by Cheryl Gush. This is art-based research and explores the development of self-awareness in leaders when painting a self-portrait.
