The Māoriland Film Festival Screening at Lake House Arts will feature a selection of indigenous films in the Becroft Gallery on Sunday 27 July, 7pm $15 per person & under 18’s free.
This intimate event (max. 60 guests) will showcase indigenous storytelling and cinematic expression, with opportunities to connect with the filmmakers where possible.
This event reflects the themes of Matariki whakapapa, remembrance and renewal through the lens of indigenous film and art.
Māoriland is Aotearoa’s premier international Indigenous film festival, based in Ōtaki. Since its founding in 2014, Māoriland has championed Indigenous storytelling from around the world, creating platforms for connection, expression, and cultural exchange. Rooted in kaupapa Māori values, the festival continues to support emerging and established filmmakers and celebrates the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity across generations.
